I am interested in managing distributed cyber-physical systems, focusing on resource allocations across networks in constrained settings (typically energy, time, and cost). Nowadays, I am exploring the possibilities to combine optimization techniques, heuristics, and AI to develop energy-efficient, independent, secure, and private large-scale networks.

My research has applications to green electricity grids and markets, networked energy systems, peer-to-peer exchanges in microgrids (e.g., here and here), drone swarms, industrial energy networks, manufacturing job shop scheduling (flexible job shop scheduling problems), and delivery logistics (e.g., capacitated vehicle routing problems (here and here)).

My paper 'Renewable Energy-centric Flexible Job Shop Scheduling' submitted to RTSI 2026 Conference at Aalto University, Espoo, won the Best Paper Award. The idea behind the paper, is to align flexible job shop schedules with renewable energy (see here). The same paper had been rejected earlier by Nordic Energy Informatics Academy Conference 2026; reviewers work in mysterious and random ways!

I, along with the CPSG group at LUT, organized a Special Session at RTSI 2026 Conference, Aalto University, Espoo. The Special Session titled 'Energy Infrastructure Management for Sustainable and Resilient Multi-energy System' had 13 interesting peer-reviewed papers. I presented two papers at the Special Session, and they were well received. This was a relatively small conference, and so there were many opportunities for nice discussions and for exploring potential collaborations.

My paper 'Renewable Energy-centric Flexible Job Shop Scheduling' was rejected by Nordic Energy Informatics Academy Conference 2026. While two reviewers were relatively positive, another reviewer was negative, and that was that. The reviewer who gave the negative remarks did not seem to understand or appreciate the paper. Interestingly, two months later, the same paper won the Best Paper Award at RTSI 2026 Conference.
